Mary has been practicing interior design ever since her first project of attempting to wallpaper her pet rabbit’s cage by hammering the wall paper to the walls. Having come a long way from this humble beginning, she is currently specializing in residential, hospitality, commercial, and light healthcare.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics Education and an Associate Degree in Interior Design. Mary completed an internship at JST Interiors in Dallas, Texas.
Previously, Mary co-owned several small family businesses. Her entrepreneurial experience honed her abilities to listen to and understand her clients’ needs. Being able to empathize with clients has enabled her to put clients’ interests into her interior design work. Being highly experienced in customer relations and handling customer issues has enabled Mary to better handle the emotional element in design work. Mary has been able to successfully combine these entrepreneurial skill sets with her artistic design ability to achieve desired results for her clients.
Mary’s professional interior designer career has spanned many areas including residential, commercial, hospitality, and light healthcare. She has hands-on experience in mid-to-high level residential design with an emphasis on expressing the client’s personality.
Recently, Mary collaborated with a local designer to redesign the prestigious Dallas Petroleum Club. The project resulted in the creation of a wine dining room and salon, refurbished dining rooms throughout the club and a stunning expanded onyx bar.
Travel has enhanced Mary’s aesthetic appreciation. This, combined with her business experience, make her services unique to the area.
Expertise:
In listening to clients’ vision of a project, Mary can capture the idea by sketching a space plan either in freehand or an advanced CAD layout. Several large hospitality design jobs came to fruition as a result of these skills.
Industry Experience:
Mary’s first professional design experience was assisting in high end residential projects where she was allowed to interact directly with clients and see jobs to completion. Her commercial/hospitality experience involves traveling nationwide for an architectural firm handling installations and project management. In that regard, seeing how jobs fit into different cultures helped her to round out her design experience.
